Congolese Dance

Congolese Dance derives from the Congo; Central Africa. It is a ritual based dance that connects spiritually with the ancestors. The dances are in many instances celebrated during special occasions; such as marriages, birth of a child, festivals, preparation for war, etc. Social dances are also important to the Congolese people.  These dances including Soukous and others are often danced in nightclubs, parties, and festivals; and are also taught and celebrated worldwide.
