Krystal joined the group in 2008 after taking Congolese dance classes at the University of Michigan with Biza Sompa for two years. Krystal was initially exposed to dance in her youth through training in ballet and gymnastics. Since, she has broadened her experience to include West African dance techniques. After earning both Bachelors and Masters degrees in pure mathematics from Clark Atlanta University, Krystal moved to Ann Arbor, Michigan to pursue a PhD in Higher Education at the University of Michigan, where she focuses on the analysis of the influence of student financial aid policy on access for underrepresented minorities. Krystal aspires to a career in public service as it relates to education and public policy.
